Experience with animals and own pets

Animals are my favourite people! My heart has been bursting from the love and compassion it contains for animals for as long as I can remember.

My current animal-family are a tabby cat named Snippie (who has an angelic Persian cat sister, tabby cat brother, and Dachshund dog brother up above in pet heaven watching over her).

Also, half of my family lives on a farm. So, since I was a little girl when visiting you’d always find me somewhere alongside the horse, donkeys, cows, and sheep – and of course their beloved doggies too.

Over the past 4 years I have gained a lot of experience caring for dogs especially from working part-time at a doggie day- and holiday care. Recently, also doing walkies elsewhere. Overall, I have cared for Great Danes and German Shepards all the way to Yorkies and Chihuahuas. I am also currently a local volunteer at SANCCOB (The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds) in Cape Town – which is where I call home.

I am currently studying BSc Biological Sciences at Tuks but planning/hoping to study veterinary nursing. I have a great passion for both domestic and wild animals. Caring for animals and their environment is just what I do.

Every day is brightened when spending time with an animal. I hope to meet yours and you as well soon!

Please describe how you know this person:

Aimee joined the Doggie Day Mother team in August 2016 in a part time capacity when she was a scholar living in Cape Town. Doggie Day Mother provides daycare and accommodation for small dogs from my home in Sunningdale. Aimee has deep compassion for all animals. I have always been amazed at and impressed by how mature Aimee is for her age. She is extremely diligent, trustworthy and can be counted on to go above and beyond the call of duty and is able to assess a situation and make an informed decision. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Aimee wholeheartedly for any position that she is keen to pursue.
