StudentCo Pet Sitter Profile

If you like this profile, remember the name "Annelie V" and simply click here to tell us more about your pets and when you will need a sitter. StudentCo will let you know if this pet sitter is available (if not, you will be introduced to another, equally awesome, team member).

The next step is the meet-and-greet. This is an informal meeting at your home so you (and your pets!) can get to know a potential sitter. You are invited to discuss your needs and expectations openly, and then decide whether you would like to proceed with a booking. The meet-and-greet is 100% cost and obligation-free and will be arranged for a time that suits you.

Experience with animals and own pets

Ever since I was a little girl, I developed a deep love and passion for animals, especially dogs! I believe it is a gene that runs through my family as myself, my great-grandmother, grandmother and my aunt have always rescued and helped stray animals. We used to run an animal shelter in Standerton, but due to financial reason we were not able to support the hectic funds needed to help all the defenceless animals. I am still involved in volunteer work at numerous animal shelters, whenever I have extra time. I especially enjoy going to Wollies.

My first fur baby is Vicky. She is a six-year-old Jack Russell terrier. She is a beast of a dog, a true hunter. Before Vicky, I had three other JRTs. This is where I developed a love for and fascination of the breed. Then there’s Rocky. He is also a JRT and is all muscle and attitude, but a true softy when it comes to cuddles. His father’s name was Vleis and he was also a huge JRT with muscles all over.

Next, we have Dingo. He was my first large breed dog. The reason I called him Dingo was because he looks very similar to the native wild dogs found in Australia called dingoes. I am not sure what’s in Dingo’s bloodline, as I found him as a stray with a homeless man on the streets of Boksburg. The man was trying to sell Dingo to a pet shop and my heart was aching, so I bought Dingo without hesitation for a R100. He was about 6 months old and covered in fleas and ticks. This poor baby was scared of everything, but he underwent the most amazing transformation! Now he is full of life and energy!

Lastly, we have Pablo. He’s my baby. He is a 10-month-old pug and a true clown! I would say he’s super spoilt and knows he can get away with murder. So there you have it! A little information about my crazy, happy dog pack and I! I truly hope that I can be of assistance one day and help you take care of your special fur babies when you cannot.

I met Annelie through a family friend. She looked over my two Boston Terriers, who are also like my children. I usually trust no one with my pets, but then Annelie proved me wrong. She is wonderful with any pet and will love them just like you do. I would recommend her to any pet lover. She has compassion and will take care of any person or pet as if it were her own.

Additional Notes:

Although I would consider Annelie a friend, it does not discount the good work she has done as a pet sitter in the past. Having her as a friend has helped me understand how passionate, caring and knowledgeable she is of animals. Annelie is a very sweet and caring person who loves animals and just wants to make their lives better. She is smart and competent when it comes to animals. She always goes the extra mile to make sure the animals are treated right but still understands discipline such as guiding dogs to not behave poorly and to socialize with other dogs to ensure that they are well mannered. She has done some research on animal behaviour and has expressed a desire to do an animal/dog behaviour training course. I would highly recommend her, even taking emotions out of the equation she is just good with animals and has the passion and caring required to treat animals well.
