StudentCo Pet Sitter Profile

If you like this profile, remember the name "Jason D" and simply click here to tell us more about your pets and when you will need a sitter. StudentCo will let you know if this pet sitter is available (if not, you will be introduced to another, equally awesome, team member).

The next step is the meet-and-greet. This is an informal meeting at your home so you (and your pets!) can get to know a potential sitter. You are invited to discuss your needs and expectations openly, and then decide whether you would like to proceed with a booking. The meet-and-greet is 100% cost and obligation-free and will be arranged for a time that suits you.

Experience with animals and own pets

I have always been a huge lover of both animals and nature. To date, I have had the pleasure of working, and sharing a living space, with quite the menagerie of animals. We currently live with five dogs and they are just the cutest little pups.

I have done community service at the Pretoria Zoo and I have also visited Wetnose animal shelter a few times, along with doing some private pet-sitting. I tried to join the South African Herpetological Association in 2015, and even signed up and attended a few meetings, but due to work complications at the time, I stopped attending the meetings.

I have been involved in the rescuing of a fair share of animals - two of which happen to be dogs that now live with me!

To conclude my experience with animals (and here is where it gets odd), I have kept over two hundred exotic pet species, including monitor lizards, bearded dragons, iguanas, terrapins, turtles, tarantulas, alligators and many, many snake species.
