Experience with animals and own pets

I grew up in big game reserves surrounded by animals, both domestic and wild. Oela is my cat that I honestly don't know what I'd do without. He was a rescue cat that I adopted with my gran. After some time, we found out he was quite ill with Diabetes, had ulcers in his mouth and had to have all of his teeth removed. It was difficult for him, but it never changed his personality.

Sky is my Siamese cat, who is an absolute sucker for love and cuddles! Fatso is the funniest cat of all - having quite the belly and always being up for games. Ceo is a mysterious little hunter, but she just does her own thing. They like going for little strolls around the area with me in the afternoons.

We also have had other animals, such as Haley, our Boxer Collie. I used to love going for runs with her and going swimming with her at the beach. During my high school years, I used to pet sit my family’s animals, as well as the pets of other people in the area where we used to stay. Back home in the game reserve, we have wild Vervet monkeys who seem to have taken a liking to me - sitting on my lap at times or just being about in the garden with me.

I also went to a nature based school where we had opportunities to interact with and learn more about animals. They have always been close to my heart. During holidays, I enjoy taking the K-9 dogs, from the security services on the reserve, for walks and playing fetch with them. I also used to have a Mexican red rump tarantula which I grew very fond of. She used to walk all over my bed and I loved studying with her by my side. Unfortunately, she passed away due to old age.

Animals are such beautiful creatures filled with emotions and each with their own personality. They have always had a soft spot in my heart.

Lané house and pet sat for a friend of mine whenever she had to go away. She was still in school at the time, but that didn’t stop her from doing a wonderful job. The pets became very fond of her and she took very good care of them and kept them company while I was away. It gave me the peace of mind to enjoy my time away from home.
