StudentCo Pet Sitter Profile

If you like this profile, remember the name "Latoya N" and simply click here to tell us more about your pets and when you will need a sitter. StudentCo will let you know if this pet sitter is available (if not, you will be introduced to another, equally awesome, team member).

The next step is the meet-and-greet. This is an informal meeting at your home so you (and your pets!) can get to know a potential sitter. You are invited to discuss your needs and expectations openly, and then decide whether you would like to proceed with a booking. The meet-and-greet is 100% cost and obligation-free and will be arranged for a time that suits you.

Name of sitter: Latoya N

Area: Naturena (Johannesburg South)

Note: Latoya happily looks after pets who are not in her immediate area - driving is not a problem.

Course of study: BSc – Biological Science

Approved StudentCo pet sitter since: November 2018

Experience with animals and own pets

I've always loved animals and so my dream job was to become a veterinarian, but after the passing of my sweet Kimmy, I realised that I would not have the strength to face other pet parents when the worst case scenario occurs. Hence, my current majors are Biodiversity and Organismal Biology (under the school of Animal, Plant and Environmental Sciences (APES)), which will lead me to my final destination of zoology and conservation.

I'm currently a dog mom to two adorable Boerboels, Brock and Kim (the second). I am in charge of feeding, grooming and walking them. About 4 years ago we had 5 dogs (all Boerboels) and it was the happiest time of my life. They were all naughty but worth the trouble and so a large pet family will be no trouble to me.

In the past, I have handled pets of all shapes and sizes. This included rats, hedgehogs, snakes, salamanders and iguanas. Not forgetting dogs and cats, obviously.
