Experience with animals and own pets

Since I was very young, I was always the child who brought home a variety of strays, and that hasn’t changed as I grew up! Through the years we have had birds (including chickens), dogs, cats and fish. I currently have 5 pets in total: Bentley the ginger cat, Achilles the tuxedo cat, Shuri the black cat, Fransie the tiny chihuaha x minpin and Miekie the German Shepherd.

I was raised to have respect for creatures of all shapes and sizes and I have always been an animal lover, but I have a very soft spot in my heart for the ones with special needs. Bentley was rescued by Pets Empowerment in Townships and for the first year after I adopted him, he had to take special kitty anti-anxiety medication. Now he is one of the most spoilt cats around! I rescued Fransie as a puppy with a broken leg which eventually had to be amputated and after lots of physiotherapy and love, he is now a happy and lively 10-year old already! When I was a child, I also adopted a chick who had been rejected by her mother and she slept in my hair every night even after she had grown into a big hen.

I believe all animals deserve to be loved and taken care of, so I support rescue organisations wherever I can. I organise regular raffles and food and blanket drives for Wollies through a market I help coordinate. I also enjoy visiting a farm sanctuary to spend some time with the rescued farm animals.

My pets mean the world to me and I understand how difficult it can be to leave them behind when I go on holiday. That is why I will always go the extra mile to make sure your furbabies feel loved and comforted while you enjoy your time away.

Additional notes: Nina was amazing with my animals who normally don't like outsiders, and she looked after my plants and everything really well. I recommend her for work with any animals, as far as I can tell she is way over qualified but does it because she loves animals.
