StudentCo Pet Sitter Profile

If you like this profile, remember the name "Tasmin S" and simply click here to tell us more about your pets and when you will need a sitter. StudentCo will let you know if this pet sitter is available (if not, you will be introduced to another, equally awesome, team member).

The next step is the meet-and-greet. This is an informal meeting at your home so you (and your pets!) can get to know a potential sitter. You are invited to discuss your needs and expectations openly, and then decide whether you would like to proceed with a booking. The meet-and-greet is 100% cost and obligation-free and will be arranged for a time that suits you.

Experience with animals and own pets

I looked after an 8-week-old Ragdoll kitten for 6 months in 2015. My duties included feeding, grooming, and playing with the kitten. I loved the time I got to spend with her, and she is now a gorgeous, fully grown cat.

I have successfully reared two litters of Siamese kittens from December 2016 to February 2017. The kittens were born from both of my own Siamese cats. I assisted in both deliveries and treated one litter that developed an eye infection during their weaning stage. I loved all those kittens dearly and made sure that they all went to loving homes.

I went through educational training at the Sandton SPCA in 2013 and 2014. The training was part of a programme to educate the surrounding rural areas about how to properly care for their pets, vaccinations and adoptions, as well as basic dog walking skills. This experience opened my eyes to the lives of underprivileged animal owners and taught be patience and understanding.

I attended the veterinary clinic of PDSA Soweto as a veterinarian’s assistant in 2015. My duties included preparing the animals for surgery, shaving and cleaning the operation site, and anesthesia administration. I gained an understanding for basic animal treatment, as well as how to behave around sick or injured animals.
