StudentCo Pet Sitter Profile

If you like this profile, remember the name "Thalita B" and simply click here to tell us more about your pets and when you will need a sitter. StudentCo will let you know if this pet sitter is available (if not, you will be introduced to another, equally awesome, team member).

The next step is the meet-and-greet. This is an informal meeting at your home so you (and your pets!) can get to know a potential sitter. You are invited to discuss your needs and expectations openly, and then decide whether you would like to proceed with a booking. The meet-and-greet is 100% cost and obligation-free and will be arranged for a time that suits you.

Experience with animals and own pets

I have been a huge animal lover since I can remember. I did a junior program at the Johannesburg Zoo when I was young and did a project for the Pretoria Zoo in 2018 as part of my engineering degree. Furthermore, I have helped out at shelters during school and regularly visited a milking farm with various animals - and obviously my favourite part was giving the little calves milk and catching the chicks.

Currently, I have the cutest dwarf bunny named Archie living with me while I study, as well as three cats and a Yorkie named Rieksie, Gingi, Fifi and Sebastiaan back home, who have basically grown up with me. Rieksie is mine and we rescued her when she was only two weeks old.

In the past, I’ve had various birds including Ring necks, Cockatiels, and Budgies, along with ducks, quails and various other birds. We’ve also had hamsters, guinea pigs, goldfish, koi’s and a few other pets. This has thought me so much about the different characters and preferences.

I also enjoy rescuing and rehabilitating wild animals that we find in the area and helping out friends and family with their pets.

Additional notes:

Thalita has always been an animal lover. From the age of three, she had her own chickens, bunnies, cats, dogs and ducks. She used to rescue little birds when her cats would catch them and neighbours would bring injured animals to her to look after them.

She absolutely loves all animals and she is responsible, caring and dedicated. She pet sat for me in December 2016 for two weeks and December 2017 for two weeks. My cats were in perfect condition when I came back from holiday. I will highly recommend Thalita to pet sit.
