What to get your pets for Christmas!

It’s that time of year again! Gammons are lining the fridges of shops, carols are subtly humming in the background on your trip to the mall and the streets are lit up with the glow of lights, joy and Christmas cheer!

Some are frantically scouring the shops for the latest PlayStation to give to their little boy on Christmas morning, and others for the perfect first gift for their in-laws, but very few think about their fur babies on this special day. Here is a list of the five best gifts to get your pets this holiday. After all, it’s Christmas for them too!

1. Homemade treats

With hundreds of online recipes to choose from, homemade doggy treats are definitely one of the easiest and most cost effective ways to spoil your furry family members this holiday. It is also a great opportunity to have some fun with the kids! If you’re cooking up a five star meal for yourself, why not do the same for your fur children.

2. Intellectually stimulating toys

There are tons of fun and interesting toys on the market that will keep your fur babies intrigued and entertained for hours on end, while at the same time keep their brains active and alert. Kongs and Pet treat launchers are great examples of such toys!

3. Extra hugs and kisses

Due to the crazy rush of everyday life, we can’t often spend as much time with our pets as we’d like. December is a great time to make up for this by spending as much time as possible smooching, walking, playing with and bonding with our fur children!

4. Some new bling

I’m sure a lot of us can admit that we haven’t bought our fur kids new collars either since the day we first got them, the day they stopped growing, or the day they chewed their collars up!  A brand new matching collar, leash and harness is a great gift idea and will certainly keep your pet looking dazzling on his next walkies!

5. Friendship collar

For those of you who love to keep a part of your pet with you everywhere you go, a friendship collar would be the perfect gift for you and your fur kid! This collar has a matching bracelet for you to wear, that will keep your baby close to you, even when you aren’t home!

And there you have it! These are five of the best things that will fill your pet’s heart with joy this festive season. With Christmas around the corner, I urge you all to get shopping, get wrapping and get cooking, so that no family member feels left out on that very special Christmas morning!
